Pumping water in the developing world is currently the most widespread application for direct drive. Many options are available for a wide range of applications and budgets. Check out our consultation services if you are interested in getting help designing your solar water system.
These companies all produce excellent direct drive pumps. They are more expensive, but they have been on the market for long time and have proven quality and durability:
One lower cost, decent quality option is Feili Pump Co. Feili is a Chinese company that distributes in the US. We have used their pumps in several applications and we have been pleased with the performance of their pumps even in low light conditions. We cannot speak to the durability of these pumps, but we assume that they are less durable than the more expensive pumps.
Another low cost, decent quality option out of China is Ningbo Cheers. They manufacture submersible and surface pumps, including the multistage booster pump that we have in stock. This model can run on a 90V integrated direct drive circuit, along with a Roxy Oven and converted 120VAC appliances. We have tested these pumps and can recommend them; however we cannot speak to the durability compared to the more established brands.
Snap Fan makes good quality direct drive fans for various applications. They are not cheap. We have tested them and are pleased with the quality.
Hot Spot Energy is a company in Virginia that offers direct drive air conditioners. We have not tested them.
